Hoorn has two large museums, the West Frisian Museum and the Museum of the 20th Century. While the former mainly depicts early history, including the Golden Age and the VOC, the Museum of the 20th Century focuses on matters from a more recent past through various changing exhibitions.
Hoorn also has various galleries and pop-up exhibition spaces, such as Expost.
