Plenty to see and experience at the Hoorn museum site! Here you will discover the story about the steam tram in the Netherlands. After arriving at the atmospheric tram station, you will visit the exhibition De Tijdlijn, a working signal box and the Bello Atelier in the workshop.
Hoorn’s tram station is a relic building with all the elements of a historic steam tram station. Step inside and imagine yourself in old times! In the central hall you will find a wooden counter where you can buy your ticket. In one wing you can visit the permanent exhibition De Tijdlijn, and in the other wing the historic station restaurant. If you walk outside, you can shelter from the rain (or sun) under the wooden awning. Below, and on the station square, old-fashioned gas lanterns burn in the evenings. Enamel billboards from yesteryear adorn the facade. The colors of the building are as they were used in and around the stations between Hoorn and Medemblik.
