Cheese Market

The Hoorn cheese market is held on the main square of the city, the Roode Steen. Since 1888 also called Cheese Market. The Hoorn cheese market is therefore the oldest cheese market in the Netherlands, with a history that every visitor to Hoorn should taste. Literally and figuratively. Your visit to Hoorn is not complete without a visit to the cheese market. Rarely does history come so close. The Hoorn cheese markets always take place on Thursdays in weeks 25 to 35, with the exception of week 32, the Kermisweek.
