Hoorn has several special markets. Two large goods markets are held in the spring and autumn. Both markets cover the Veemarkt, Breed, Gedempte Turfhaven, the Gouw and Nieuwstraat. In August there is also the traditional Lappendag, on the last day of the Hoorn fair. This market has an ancient history and is one of the largest in the Netherlands. Hundreds of market stalls are ready from early in the morning, filled with rags, blouses, pants, sweaters, you name it. The above markets are organized by the Market Service Hoorn. A cozy fair is also organized during a number of Super Shopping Sundays, making the shopping tour extra attractive. And every year there is also a very cozy night market as part of the kick-off of the Hoornse Stadsfeesten (from 6 p.m. to midnight)
